South Korea requires the KC mark on regulated electrical, electronic and children’s products. KC Safety (KATS) comes in three levels by risk, and KC EMC/radio is managed by the RRA. Testing in Korea and a Korean applicant are common. PCN coordinates everything from Delhi.
| KC Safety | Safety Certification (with factory inspection) · Safety Confirmation · Supplier’s Conformity |
|---|---|
| KC EMC / radio | RRA conformity assessment |
| Testing | Mostly Korean designated labs |
| Marking | KC mark and number on the product |
South Korea’s KC mark covers several separate laws. For electrical safety, the Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act sets three levels:
Products with radio modules or EMC concerns also need KC radio and EMC conformity assessment under the Radio Waves Act, which the National Radio Research Agency (RRA) administers. Many products, such as smart appliances, Bluetooth speakers and chargers with wireless functions, need both electrical safety and radio KC.
We classify your product under the correct KC category and plan testing so that existing IEC test data is reused wherever Korean standards allow. We also coordinate with designated labs and help you prepare for the factory audit. Exporting to several Asian markets? We combine KC with Japan PSE and other Asia-Pacific certifications in one plan.
