FCC Certification for Indian Manufacturers: FCC ID & SDoC

If your product has a processor, a switching power supply or a radio, the US Federal Communications Commission regulates it. Radio devices need FCC Certification, which gives them a public FCC ID. Most other digital devices can use the lighter Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC). PCN picks the right route, books the lab and files with the TCB, so you don’t lose weeks going back and forth.

FCC Certification FAQs

Can I reuse my WPC or TEC reports for FCC?

Not directly, because US limits and test methods differ. They do help us plan a shorter US test programme.

I use a certified Bluetooth module. Do I still need FCC?

Usually you still need Part 15B testing of the finished product, and the host label must show “Contains FCC ID” with the module’s ID, following the module’s grant conditions.

Does an FCC ID ever expire?

No. It remains valid as long as the product isn’t modified in a way that affects compliance.

How long does FCC take?

Typically 2–4 weeks for SDoC and 3–6 weeks for Certification, depending on lab slots and TCB queries.

Requirements, portals and fees change often. PCN confirms the applicable rules for each product before quoting. Certificates are issued by the relevant authority, accredited certification body or notified body.
