BIS certification for automotive, electronics and industrial manufacturers in Chennai and Tamil Nadu. We handle ISI mark licences, CRS registration and FMCS, plus automotive homologation support.
Chennai is home to the BIS Southern Regional Office and one of India’s largest manufacturing belts. Sriperumbudur, Oragadam and the Chennai–Bengaluru corridor host automotive, electronics and component makers. Chennai port also serves importers across south India. Many of the businesses we support here need BIS approval and automotive approvals for the same product line.
PCN India Global combines BIS certification with GARC and ARAI homologation support. Automotive and component makers get one point of contact for their compliance.
| Industry / cluster | Typical BIS route |
|---|---|
| Automotive and auto components (Oragadam, Sriperumbudur) | ISI mark under auto-component QCOs + CMVR homologation |
| Electronics manufacturing (Sriperumbudur) | BIS CRS for phones, chargers, IT products |
| Pumps, motors and electrical equipment (Tamil Nadu) | ISI mark (e.g. pumps QCO) |
| Textiles and garments | ISI mark where a textile QCO applies |
| Importers via Chennai port | CRS or FMCS for the overseas manufacturer |
Chennai is the seat of the BIS Southern Regional Office. Applications are filed online, and factory inspections are carried out by BIS officers.
Many auto components, such as tyres, automotive safety glass and two-wheeler helmets, are covered by Quality Control Orders. Vehicles and many systems also need CMVR type approval from agencies like ARAI or GARC.
For a domestic factory with a ready in-house lab and clean documentation, it typically takes 30–60 days after testing, depending on the BIS inspection schedule.
