Selling a product in India usually needs more than one approval. A Wi-Fi router may need BIS CRS registration, WPC Equipment Type Approval, TEC MTCTE certification, EPR registration and Legal Metrology labelling — each from a different authority, with different timelines. PCN Global India Corporation is an India regulatory compliance consultant for foreign manufacturers. We map every requirement for your product range, sequence the approvals so testing is reused where possible, provide the India-side representative where the law requires one, and manage the whole programme until your goods clear customs and reach the shelf.

It depends on the product. Common approvals are BIS certification (ISI, FMCS or CRS), WPC ETA for wireless products, TEC MTCTE for telecom equipment, BEE star labelling for energy-using appliances, CDSCO for medical devices and cosmetics, EPR registration with CPCB and Legal Metrology labelling for packaged goods.
Often, yes. BIS requires an Authorised Indian Representative for FMCS and CRS, and CDSCO requires an Authorised Indian Agent for medical device and cosmetic imports. We can provide or arrange this support.
Sometimes. Each authority has its own recognised labs and standards, but careful planning lets some test data and documentation be reused, which saves time and samples.
Simple products may be ready in 1 to 3 months; products needing several approvals or a factory inspection can take 4 to 9 months. A requirement matrix at the start gives you a realistic timeline.
The importer of record is the Indian entity that holds an Import Export Code (IEC) and clears goods through customs. It also needs Legal Metrology registration for pre-packaged goods and may be responsible for EPR.
